Bar Kanei... The Mood is Relaxed and Everyone is a VIP
The cool, laid-back, spaciously–freeing and bright ambience at Bar Kanei creates a mood of excitement and at the same time calm.
Set amidst this tropical landscape, on the extremely busy south coast of Barbados, faced by easy access from all dimensions and laying on a spectacular beach, yet tucked away from busy traffic. Await views of a deep blue sea, white sand dotted with trendy beach goers… coconut trees sway and provide shade moreover your beach umbrella, while you lounge on your beach chair … enjoy front row seats to engaging evening sunsets. On walking into Bar Kan'ei, it was like discovering paradise within paradise.
The lagoon is shaped by an alignment of mid-size rocks which also lend increase safety for toddlers or young children to frolic and surf in the shallow waters nearby.
The complete beach experience is what Bar Kan'ei offers, combining a menu set with choices from casual bar snacks, a burger (with a vegetarian option) and fries through to mouth-watering entrees and comforting desserts. 
The cuisine is infused with Caribbean and Mediterranean flare, and accompanied by a fanciful drinks menu.
What is a lovely view, chic beach scene without a devoted drinks list from which to choose your preferred thirst-quencher?
This bar's drinks menu offers a gamut of soft drinks through to wine, popular cocktails, refreshing beer, other liquor, and of course coffee is available if you would like.
There is a happy hour every day from 5pm-6pm where select drinks are on special (two for the price of one).
The beach experience at Bar Kan'ei extends beyond a tasteful menu, bar and excellent service to a complete day at the beach.
Beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach towels and a convenient outdoor shower are all available to the bar's customers.
On Sundays' you can enjoy a tasty meal while listening to the cool sounds of Jazz performed by the Bar Kanei Jazz Musicians, the group has a fantastic sound.
Overall, it is a wonderfully upbeat, inviting, yet relaxing bar, enhanced with stimulating beats in the background.
There is definitely something satisfyingly unusual about the vibe at Bar Kanei.
Talking with Irena, the owner of the establishment, it all came to light.
Originally from the south-eastern European country of Bulgaria, Irena explained that there are bars quite similar to Bar Kanei in Bulgaria.
While also living in England and working with the government there, Irena decided to visit Barbados for a holiday.
“After one hour on Barbados I knew I was going to live here.”
On that note, this lady went back to England and told her colleagues the news of her moving to the island.
While walking the beach with her sister and talking about what business they could possibly start in Barbados,the pair saw this bar, the building had been available for over a year.
Irena’s sister took care of setting up and organising the place for its opening, the theme is 21st centruary European- very spacious and very minimalist, with modern European music playing in the background, a very different experience for Barbados.
Kan'ei was a Japanese era after Genna and before Shôhô and spanned from 1624 to 1643.
