Generally speaking, Barbadians carry a proud appearance. A casual walk through Bridgetown is a good testimony to this statement. Outside of typical business attire, you will see fashion inspired outfits of all types and some very spiffy ones I may add.

Ladies are usually well made-up and wear stylishly fitted attire, ranging from classic and conservative to ultra modern. Men wear largely casual pants in different makes and personally inspired shirts to convey their image.

Dress-in-general tips:

1. Choose clothing made of cotton, light linens, and other synthetic materials--avoid heavy linens and silks.

2. Favour white and light colours (neutrals and pastel tones) and bright colours in light materials. Pass-up dark colours, avoid absorbing additional heat.

3. Reframe from wearing extremely tight or clingy clothing which is often intolerable in the heat and lends to nothing but misery.
