Language: Barbadians speak English, in addition to the local dialect called "Bajan" .

Bajan is a fusion of African and English words and is spoken at such a rapid pace that understanding can be lost upon a listener unfamiliar with the language.


Capital City & Towns: Bridgetown is the capital city of Barbados. There 3 other main towns- Oistins in Christ Church, Holetown in St. James and Speightstown in St. Peter.

There are two main newspapers- The Nation newspaper give general news and the Advocate newspaper is more business oriented.
