Barbados Island Tours

There some pretty good Barbados island tours ...

Looking for a great way to see and experience life on the island? Then definitely do a Barbados island tour.

There are many ways to have a successful and interesting tour of Barbados. Your choices depend on your level of adventure and interest, your particular needs and your mood. The complete success of this activity depends on which option you choose.

A Guided Island Tour

An organized or pre-packaged guided tour of Barbados can be the world of fun.

Choose an all day tour with lunch or a half day tour with light snacks. A variety of scenic stops, historic land marks and monuments are highlighted through out this on-land adventure. Adding some thrill to the experience, some tours take you through off-the-beaten-track, bushy, bumpy and sometimes hilly terrain.

You will occasionally see a paved road every now and then and sometimes, may even find yourself laughing out loud with anxiety. While, on the other hand, your counterparts on the tour handle this part of the ride a little less subtly.

A well informed, exhilarating and professional tour guide, makes this option an efficient way, to gain a quick overview, of Barbados’ natural beauty and heritage.

This is a fun-filled experience suited to family and feeling sociable.

An Island Tour of Your Own

For a more intimate or personal sense of adventure, that allows you to see what you happen to see and get closer to Barbados culture. Rent a car and do a Barbados island tour of your own. There are great rental cars Barbados offers and all in all getting round Barbados is easy.

It is amazing… some of the things and places I discover when I go for undecided drives around Barbados. Chances are you may feel the same way. You can make it your day… pack your favourite treats, music and an island map to follow. There are many places serving up a Bajan buffet where you can stop and have lunch.

This option is also suited to the family and just feeling free spirited.

Quite recently, my friend Kris and I took a Barbados island tour of our own, using a road map, we visited familiar spots—beaches, towns and discovered a few new areas, we even reminisced over some historic icons we saw. This activity was great fun.

Getting Lost

As we traveled Barbados, we actually got lost on this 166 square miles of island rock, and realized it after circling the parish of St. Lucy twice(the blind leading the blind, I guess). So if you get lost on your own Barbados island tour, even with your Barbados map in hand, there are a couple of ways that I also use to get back to town.

Finding Your Way

1. Follow all of the “Bus to city Stops” or better still, you can follow a bus back to town. Even if it is not going towards the “Bus to city Stops”, bear in mind that it must turn around to go back to town sometime.

2. Ask for directions. Barbadians are charming and friendly, and the only “catch” is, ef de Bajan givin yuh directions speakin “Bajan” , you could have an interesting time interpreting this local dialect, especially when spoken quickly. Once the directions are all sorted you can easily find your way.
