...For tasty fare and a night to party. The Barbados Oistins Fish Fry is one of the liveliest, outdoor Barbados fish fries. And one not to miss. You will hear all about it.
Oistins is one of the best places to taste Bajan food and take in a festive Bajan atmosphere any time of the year along the seaside.
The Oistins fishing village is a group of modest shacks. In between these you will find
Barbados art
and jewelerey stalls, you can browse and shop.
On the opposite side of the road
Bajan rum shops
host their own lime.
So Many Vendors... Which One to Choose?
There are so many vendors at the Barbados Oistins fish fry, which one to choose becomes a trick question?
To make your decision easier, you have nothing to loose.
From several visits, the portion size and taste of food from different vendors is good. A plate costs as little as Bds $20.00 and up.
It comes down to which vendor your prefer to lime at.
After you decide on where to have your meal have a
Barbados rum
and coke, while your waiting for your Bajan food. A Rum and coke usually goes down good at these limes.
When to Go to Oistins
Oistins Fishing Village is open everday and the fish fries start around 6:30pm.
Tip : Get to Oistins early, the food is so infamous it goes quickly. The later you go, the more people you will have to wrangle with and the longer you will have to wait to be served. Get there before the most loved foods run out.
Friday and Saturday nights are the best nights for this Barbados fish fry. Friday, around 10:00 pm the party crowd builds up.
You can groove to Dj music of all types from old school to modern, hip hop, disco, reggae and dub.
If you prefer your evening with a less intense party crowd but still with a festive feeling, then Saturday nights are a better bet.
Actually Saturday nights at Oistins are my favourite!
