Barbados Weather Information- from Sunshine to Wind Speed

Check Barbados Weather details- to find out what the weather is like in Barbados: today, tonight or for the next 10 days using the weather chart below.

Barbados has a warm climate (approximate day temp. of 27 degrees celcius). In the dry season (January - June), days can be extremely warm while nights are noticeably cooler, but extremely warm nights are not un-heard-of either.

Hurricanes arise off of the coast of Africa and head toward the Caribbean, tend to shun Barbados, owing to the island's position on the southern edge of the Atlantic.

There is sunshine all year round except for a few tropical showers from June 1 - November 30(which is the hurricane season). This heavy rainfall, much needed and welcomed, comes in short bursts of rain with sunshine urgently peaking through. Nothing that would completely hault travel plans or destroy a day out.

Quirky weather, at times you will notice the rain falling a few feet away from you and where you are is totally dry.

Other times the rain falls when the sun is shining. When this happens there is a bajan saying: "de devil an' e wife fighting fuh de cou cou stick" that wittingly explains why.

During the months of November, December, and January dusk sets in earlier than normal and night time breezes become increasingly chilly. While day time remains bright and sunny, caressed by cooling east trade winds.

Weather Facts:

  • Barbados' location at 13° North and 59° West, gives average day time (high)temperatures of 24-30 degrees celcius, and the island lies outside of the principle hurricane belt avoiding direct impact.

  • The last hurricane to hit Barbados was hurricane "Janet" in 1955.
