Exotic Murals of Public Barbados Art
There is so much more public Barbados art to see.
Outside of Bridgetown, on your way to Bathsheba, driving through the Parish of St. Joseph there is an astonishing rock of art.
This was definitely an adventure discovery and for those of you who might have already been to Barbados, you may only be familiar with the lion and the mouse on this wall of art. For years we thought the lion was all that was there.
Hmmm... are we really residents or tourist in disguise?...LOL …just kidding, we are locals and are definitely focused on showing you unique things about this island gem, so much so, that we are discovering things that are new to ourselves.
Yes …There is more art, further in, along this wall and it is not only one wall but two!
Discovered purely by accident… I was looking for somewhere to park safely in order to properly photograph the lion for you… I ended up driving down the road right next to it. And surprise!… rocks skilfully carved and painted to produce two murals of animals…
…WOW was the word at the time, not sure if many people both locals and tourists knew there was a whole jungle behind the lion and the mouse. We were thrilled and of course we photographed this artistic find.
The rocks are large, with profound natural contours and the animals really “jump” out at you, creating a fun jungle environment. This is definitely a must see on your trip to Barbados.
I merely share what is considered to be a minor piece of the work of this public display of art, but for the best experience and most real overall feeling these murals create, it’s a good idea to visit this in Barbados.
