Travel Saving Tips

Travel saving tips, save time, cash in on bargains, and minimise huge inconveniences.

1. Make the most of your money- cut costs and save money by purchasing a round trip ticket when booking your flight.

2. Avoid additional cost of airfare by booking days falling into shoulder seasons, in these cases changing travel dates by one or two days can save some dollars. verify options with your travel agent or visit lastminute.com for air fare deals.

3. Choose unusual flight times. For example, flights departing mid week, during the fall spring and summer are often more affordable than weekends and winter.

4. Photo copy or scan the information from your passport identification page and the addresses and telephone number of your country embassy and consulate. These can help you out of all kinds of situations.

5. Make a duplicate of your home, office and other safe keys and leave them with a trusted family member, friend or post office. Packing, un-packing, changing bags etc. anything can get hidden.

6. Avoid paying departure tax twice. Sometimes this cost is included in your plane ticket fee upfront, I like to make sure it is included- no hassle worrying about paying it after a wonderful trip. (Departure tax from Barbados is Bds $50.00).

7. Put additional money onto your credit card so that you have an emergency pool to pull from. To find out your country's currency exchange rate to the Barbados dollar click here(coming soon).

And that’s it for now, for our trip saving tips. If you come across any other handy pointers I haven’t mentioned feel free to write us with your advice.
